The federal government is offering $72 million in funding to Ontario small and medium enterprises (499 or fewer employees) to decrease energy use and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions as part of their carbon pricing plan.
The Climate Action Incentive Fund was introduced on July 17, 2019. Applications are open for 90 days, until October 14, 2019. Funding is provided on a first come, first served basis.
Eligible projects can receive $20,000 up to $250,000 in funding, or 25% of a project’s total cost.
Eligible projects include improvements and updates to:
Building envelope
Lighting systems
HVAC system and controls
Building Automation Systems
District energy and heating
Projects must be new with a completion deadline of March 2021 and cannot result in higher GHG emissions
