Ontario requires owners of buildings that are 50,000 square feet or larger to report their water and energy use annually. (EWRB - O.Reg. 20/17)
Energy@Work has been working with BOMA to ensure that the process is useful and practical. We met with BOMA Chicago and visited with New York’s bench marking office to understand reporting requirements and provide feedback, which has helped to make Ontario’s process practical.
Energy@Work has demonstrated, when accurately completed, benchmarking can provide you with the insight you need to make positive changes!
We have a 3 step process aligned with the provincial timeline:
Step 1: January 31, 2018 Deadline
Obtain the required Property Owner Contact Form and EWRB#
Step 2: June 1, 2018 (before the Global Adjustment (GA) Deadline)
We will prepare and provide you:
i) Completed Energy Star Portfolio Manager submission with an Energy Star Score
ii) A GA eligibility opinion
iii) An Energy & Water Assessment
Together, there is the confidence that the information being submitted to the government is correct as well as insight on how the building is performing in comparison to others and suggested next steps.
Step 3: July 1, 2018 Deadline
We will submit the required information on your behalf. We also follow up on questions, comments and identify concerns so there are no surprises.
Knowing that information is correct as well as the significance is a great relief and a catalyst to making positive change.
Welcome to an exciting future!
